"I don’t know, the portions felt really..."
I don’t know, the portions felt really small and the price is just too high now for this kind of thing. It used to feel more worth it, but this time it just didn’t.

"Pretty bland tbh, not really my thing"
I gave Gousto a go for a few weeks, but the meals just didn’t hit. Even the ones that sounded spicy or packed with flavour ended up tasting kinda flat and boring.
A few of the sauces were super watery, and some of the spice mixes had this weird aftertaste I couldn’t get past. I kept having to chuck in extra salt, chilli, or garlic just to make it taste decent.
The recipes look good when you’re picking them, but the actual food didn’t live up to it at all. Ended up cancelling because dinner started feeling like a proper chore.

"I’ve been using Gousto for a few..."
I’ve been using Gousto for a few months now, and it’s been a bit of a relief. I’m veggie most days, but my partner still eats meat, so finding dinners that don’t turn into a whole debate can be annoying. Being able to filter the options makes it feel much easier to choose meals that suit both of us. Some of the vegan dishes do feel a little repetitive after a while, though they’re still nice enough. I do wish there were more low-calorie options too, as that would make me feel better about using it more often. Overall, I’m happy with it. It’s not perfect, but it takes a lot of the stress out of planning weekly dinners.

"Still Way Too Much Packaging"
The food itself is fine, no complaints there, but the amount of packaging is still ridiculous. I opened it up and just thought, what a joke. It feels so wasteful for such a simple order.

"One of my Gousto boxes had a bit..."
One of my Gousto boxes had a bit of a problem, the sauce pot had split open and got over some of the stuff inside. Was a bit annoying but I messaged customer service and they replied quite quick, so that was good.

They gave me credit for the item and didn’t make it into a big drama. I did have to send a couple pics first which was a little faff, but I get why they ask. Overall decent help and I’d say good service.

"Decent food, but the delivery is a mess"
I’ve had a few Gousto boxes now and, to be fair, the meals have generally been good. The problem is the delivery side really lets it down. I’ve had two boxes turn up late, and one time the tracking barely updated at all, so I had no idea what was going on. It also feels like the boxes aren’t handled with much care, which is frustrating when there’s fresh food inside. It’s hard to plan dinner when you’re not even sure if the box will arrive when it’s supposed to.

"So many choices, I’d hate to go back"
I’ve been using Gousto for a few months now the amount of recipes to choose from each week is a big reason I’ve stuck with it. We never really get bored, and even my picky partner can usually find something they actually want to eat. There’s a nice mix of quick, easy dinners and a few more interesting ones when we fancy something different. At this point, I’d feel like I was missing out if we stopped using it...

"Checkout Was Apparently Too Much to Ask"
I was trying to place an order, but the website froze right at checkout, and then the app somehow managed to lose my entire order. Super fun experience, obviously. I guess actually letting customers buy things isn’t the main priority

"Just not flexible enough for me"
I found it really awkward, when I needed to change plans. It just didn’t feel flexible enough for how I usually like to handle things

"Tomatoes were a mess, garlic was missing"
I don’t remember everything that was in the box, but the tomatoes definitely stood out because they were smashed when it arrived. Also, the garlic was missing again, which was frustrating since I’d planned to use it that night

"Packaging was alright, but there’s room for improvement"
My order showed up on time, which was good because I’d just gotten home and was already thinking about dinner. Most of the items were packed okay, and the cold stuff was still properly chilled, so no issue there. That said, there was quite a bit of plastic, and one of the sauce pots had leaked a little inside the box. It wasn’t a huge mess or anything, but it did make it feel like the packaging could use a bit more care. Overall not terrible, just not quite as tidy as I’d hoped.

"Really Tasty meals"
The food has been So good lately. The veg tastes fresh, the meat is actually nice, and the recipes are easy to follow. Portions are decent too, like we’re properly full after dinner

"I’ve had Gousto a few times..."
I’ve had Gousto a few times now, mostly on those evenings where I get in from work and immediately forget what food is supposed to be. The recipe cards are really clear, and having everything already measured out is half the battle. No staring into the fridge, no guessing amounts, just get on with it.

The timings are usually accurate too, though if I’m chopping vegetables at my usual sleepy pace then yeah, it can take a little longer. But that’s more of a me problem than a Gousto problem. I do like how it makes cooking feel less like a whole project, even when the meal looks a bit fancier than what I’d normally throw together.

I’d give it 4 stars mainly because some recipes seem to involve every pan I own, and washing up after dinner is not my favourite plot twist. Still, overall it’s really convenient, easy to follow, and takes a lot of the after-work thinking out of cooking.

"Canceling was such a hassle"
Trying to cancel was ridiculous. It took way too many clicks, and even after all that, I still wasn’t totally sure it actually went through. What a joke

"The timing feels misleading"
I don’t know who’s finishing these recipes in 30 minutes, because I’m usually still chopping by then. My last box ended up taking close to an hour each night. I wouldn’t mind the longer cooking time if they were upfront about it, but it kind of feels like they keep the times low just to make the meals look easier to sell.

"Recipes were a bit hard to follow"
I liked the idea of the recipes, but some of the steps confused me a bit here and there. Around the middle of a few recipes, I wasn’t totally sure what to do next, so they could definitely be clearer...

"The food was tasty, no complaints there... but..."
The food was tasty, no complaints there... but the portions felt kind of small. We finished everything and were still a little hungry afterward, so yeah, just wish there had been a bit more on the plate
